Love is everything. Color intoxicates. My intention is to connect emotionally with the viewer. I want the art to evoke a visceral response by creating an oasis of beauty and joy.

After much experimentation, I developed a formula using acrylic paints & medium, resulting in a stained-glass appearance. This paint mixture requires that I work on flat surfaces, rather than on easels. I prefer to paint without brushes, instead using a squeegee type tool. This technique allows a smooth application of the paint which avoids the appearance of traditional brush strokes. Using mainly transparent and translucent colors, I apply layer upon layer of this special paint formula to create depth and intensity of color. The process of layering is integral to my work. It is the physical manifestation of my thought process.

The color yellow, although not always visible in the finished work, is a thread that flows through all of my paintings. Each painting begins with yellow. For me, including the warmth of yellow is a deeply personal symbol of optimism. It is a metaphor for my life.
